摘要

In this study, a substantially improved version of\udthe Meteosat cirrus detection algorithm (MeCiDA2) will be\udpresented, which now allows application to the full earth\uddisc visible by the Meteosat satellite. As cirrus clouds have\udan influence on the radiation budget of the earth, their optical\udproperties and their global coverage has to be monitored\udat the global scale using instruments aboard geostationary\udsatellites. Since MeCiDA was optimised for the area of Europe\udonly, various changes were necessary to handle the variable\udconditions found over the full Meteosat disc. Required\udchanges include the consideration of the viewing angle dependency\udand of the sensitivity of the 9.7 μm channel to the\udozone column
